To some local folks, Low Spirits is too “out-of-the-way,” which means it’s not really located near other bars. So once you’re there, you are probably there for the rest of the night — which, really, is a pretty damn good decision. This is the place to get stranded. It’s one of our favorite places to hear live music and grab a cocktail. You’ll be in great company with the bands that have jammed on the intimate stage at this venue. And when I say intimate, I mean being in the audience literally feels like being on the stage. The margaritas deserve an honorable mention, too.

We live in an exciting time for music. Now more than ever, independent musicians can create, release, and earn from music while maintaining full ownership. Gone are the days when a handful of tastemakers and big businesses decide who’s in and who’s out. We, the people — the producers, the songwriters — now have the ability to “place” our music on digital “shelves” where real consumers can listen to that music and thus support the continued creative process.

Apply for grants

My personal mission is to make the music experience amazing for every human being in the world with a smartphone — starting with the visually impaired!

We took inspiration from the concept of crowdfunding indeed. We realized that, in many ways, the best way to help artists fund their projects was to call out their community. Today, fans like to get involved in the music they love, and they want to actively support artists. Musical projects count for 10 to 20% of all crowdfunding projects in France. In the United States, 20% of the Kickstarter projects that reach their objective are musical projects.
